Lunar Eclipse of the Red Corn Moon 16:30 - 22:00 (maximum 19:30).
As the Moon will be low on the horizon and quite difficult to see, find a high point with a clear view to the East to see the most of this eclipse.

Calling young creators aged 12–18!
Join a week-long filmmaking workshop designed for young people (ages 12–18) to discover the myths, legends, and local history of Dolgellau—and bring them to life on screen.
Over 5 exciting days, you’ll:
Develop ideas inspired by Welsh myths
Write a script and storyboard your film
Learn hands-on skills in cinematography, directing, and acting
Edit your short film with professional guidance
Premiere your 3-minute film at a public screening in Tŷ Siamas
All equipment, expert training, and support provided. No experience needed!
Led by Wild Kindness Films in association with Arloesi Dolgellau and Tŷ Siamas and a local heritage expert.
Bilingual (Welsh/English) – we welcome both fluent Welsh speakers and learners.
This course is made possible due to a Culture Fund Grant from the Welsh Government and Gwynedd Council

The Perseid Meteor Shower
Eryri (Snowdonia) has been ranked as the best place in the UK to see the Perseid meteor shower, according to research. The Perseid meteor shower is active between July 17 and August 24, with the number of meteors increasing every night until it reaches a peak of up to 60 meteors per hour on the night of August 12. The best time to see them will be between 12am-5:30am.. More info...

Coed y Brenin Wellnes Walk
Meet outside the visitors centre at 10am. Walk around 2-3 hours. Event led by Wellness Walks Gwynedd. Coed y Brenin is a forest in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales near Dolgellau at. It is popular for its mountain bike trails and hiking paths. It has several man-made mountain bike singletrack courses in a woodland setting, varying in length from 12 to 38 km, and one dual slalom course.The site is owned and operated by Natural Resources Wales, and covers an area of some 9,000 acres around the valleys of the rivers Mawddach, Eden, Gain and Wen. There is no charge for using the trails, but there is a charge for the car park at Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre. This costs £1 for 1 hour, £3 for 3 hours and £5 for all day parking. All of the proceeds go towards the maintenance and improvement of the forest trails.

WALK : MID WALES – Mawddach Trail and Abergwynant Woods
Meeting at Penmaenpool car park we will walk past the historic wooden toll bridge and past the George pub. The trail leads us along the side of the Mawddach Estuary with stunning views over to Uwch Mynedd. We will then take the trail up through Abergwynant Woods. This is an ancient woodland full of native trees and plants. We will then return back along the Mawddach trail.
This event is for plus size people of all genders to create a safe and inclusive space. We do not set a size restriction on this, but if you are smaller than a size 18/2XL we would ask you to consider if there might be other groups that you could attend. More info...
